Week 2 - Only a pair of teams still perfect as we had another tight slate of games

Our second week is done and it was a great week of hockey with 8 very close games, after only 2 weeks we are down to just 2 teams keeping the perfect record alive while at the other end only 2 teams are still searching for their first points of the season, looks like the draft set up some real parity again this season! Also have to note that after a few minor incidents in week 1 mentioned in this space most everybody was on their best behaviour this past Sunday, thanks for adjusting let's keep it up.

Captain sharpshooter Lemoine Hits the mesh with the late GWG

 

 

Spare Mike Stefanic 🚨🚨🍏 pots 2 goals and 1 assist, speedy playmaker Randy McPhee 🍏🍏 dishes out 2
assists and sharpshooting captain Shawn Lemoine 🚨 nets the game-winner with 3:15 left as his Hit the Brecques escape with a 4-3 win over the Brock Street Boys.

In the narrow loss, the Boys' goals were scored by super sophomores Austin Perron 🚨 and Elise Berthiaume 🚨, along with OFBHL freshman Dave Allston 🚨.

9:00 - Lube Jobs 3 Big Bang Theory 3

Luber Squires nets 2 filthy goals, but Brant Bangs home two too in 3-3 draw

 

 

Magic man Jeff Squires 🚨🚨 displays his filthy hands as he snipes the tying goal with just 24 ticks left on the clock to help the Lube Jobs salvage a 3-3 tie with Big Bang Theory. Veteran tender Peter Low made 2 huge saves just before the final buzzer to preserve the tie for the Lube gang.

Offensive catalyst Kelly Brant 🚨🚨 tallied twice and masked man Jason Fong made 52 saves for the Bangers.

9:50 - Bald and the Beautiful 5 In Russ We Trust 5

In another tie, Beautiful Nash nets a hatty while newcomer Pat counters with 2g-1a



Down 5-2 with just over 6 minutes left to play, In Russ We Trust stormed back with 3 straight goals by captain Sean Malloy 🚨🚨, returning Original Julie Martin 🚨🍏, and newcomer to the team Patrick Auger 🚨🚨🍏 to tie the game at 5-5, which held up to be the final score.

Playmaker Mark Nash 🎩🎩🎩🍏 sniped a natural hat-trick plus 1 assist and returning star Dan Ballem 🚨🍏 had 1g-1a for the Bald and the Beautiful.

10:40 - Hustlers 3 Sunday Cruisers 1

After no goals for either team in the 1st half, Hustlers' co-captain Mona Le Blanc 
🚨🍏🍏 opened the scoring a couple minutes into the 2nd stanza, but veteran sniper Don Prior 🚨 rifled one home shortly thereafter for the Sunday Cruisers. Four minutes later though, sharpshooter Jeff Murphy 🚨🍏 tallied and ultimate playmaker Steven Toste 🚨 made it 3-1 for the Hustlers who held on for the win.

Long-time Original sniper Danielle Leroux 🎩🎩🎩 nets a hat-trick and captain Andrew Stephens 🚨🍏 and

rookie Alex Rogozynski 🍏🍏 each get 2 points in Wake Me Up Before You Rogo's 7-4 triumph over the Wannabes.

That spicy gang made the game close at 5-4 with exactly 5 minutes left, but Rogo rearguard Vanessa Miron 🚨 and Danielle potted goals 23 seconds apart to seal the victory.

Our league's all-time shutout leader, Marc-Andre, adds another in 3-0 whitewashing


Masked man Marc-Andre Lalonde adds to his all-time league record with his 10th career shutout in stopping all 28 shots he faced, and playmaker Sean Frewen 🚨🚨 scores 2 goals as the Modern Day Cowboys get a solid 3-0 win over Bamanda's Pandas.

1:10 - Zack Attack 5 Puck of the Irish 1

Hawkins Attacks with a natural hat-trick while his masked man Leury denies all but 1



With the game tied 1-1 midway through the 2nd half, Zack Attack sharpshooter Ryan Hawkins
 🎩🎩🎩🍏 tallied a natural hat-trick in under 3 minutes to give his team what turned out to be an insurmountable lead. A big reason for that was their goalie Marty Leury who was also on fire in turning aside 27 of 28 shots in an eventual 5-1 victory over Puck of the Irish.

2:00 - Whotown Forever 8 New Office on the Block 4

Bruce makes his Whotown family proud with his hat-trick of goals and assists

 


The Whotown Forever gang, who have 3 raw rookies imported from Markstay, continue to impress as they scored 5 unanswered goals about halfway through the game en route to an impressive 8-4 win over New Office on the Block.

Smiling playmaker Bruce Boivin 🎩🎩🎩🍏🍏🍏 recorded a hat-trick of goals and assists and captain Sean Frewen 🚨🚨🍏 had 2g-1a in the victory, while on the other side, Mark Yeates 🚨🍏🍏 had 1g-2a, fireballer Shawn Blais 🚨🚨 netted 2 goals and rookie Jodi Connolly 🚨🍏 had 1g-1a.
