December 2, 2018 11:30 - MC's Hammers vs Frew Fighters

Game Recap:

In yet another big game with A Pool implications, the 3-3-5 MC's Hammers needed at least 1 pt to avoid finishing in 8th place and face the unbeaten 11W-0L-1T Mitch's Bitches. While on the other side, the Frew Fighters needed at least 1 pt to remain in 5th place. Young Hammer star Eric Bekkers broke the ice 8 minutes in with a rather fluky goal allowed by super sophomore tender Russell Latham. About 6 minutes later though, captain Fighter Sean Frewen blasted home a howitzer point shot that bulged the twine, tying the game at 1-1.

Despite doubling their opponents in shots (18-9) in the 2nd half, the Hammers couldn't get another goal by the game's 1st star Russell, while his counterpart MC Chartrand also shut the door the rest of the way as the contest would end in a hard-fought 1-1 draw. The 1 pt puts the Hammers at least temporarily in 6th place pending the result of the Mystery Machine's game, while the Frew Fighters indeed finish in 5th place with a quarter-final date next week against Full Tilt.
