The Dirty Downers suffered through an epically slow start to this season, after 3 games the team had scored only 4 goals and were still searching for their first victory, all that changed in Week 4 as they "got right" pounding home 6 goals in a win. That momentum would continue into Week 5, DD sniper Steve Toste would continue his recent heater with the opening 2 goals of the game in the opening minute of the game, making it 7 of his team's past 8 goals coming off Toste's scorching stick. Red Light shooter Shawn Lemoine managed to get his team on the board late in the period but they would trail 3-1 at the intermission.
The score would stay that way for most of the 2nd period until Lemoine and Tim "Silky Mitts" Squires would finally get something going as both lit the lamp with under 8 minutes remaining in the contest to tie the game at 3-3. However luckily for DD, Toste would not be done on this day, he would finally not be the one scoring, but instead played set up man to veteran defender Pat Auger for the go ahead (and game winning) goal with just 3 minutes to play. DD hold on to win 4-3 for their second straight victory and now look like one of the contenders after a rough start.
