Game Recap:

The final game of the week was expected to be low scoring with 2 veteran top talents tending the twine (alliteration baby!) as Justin Labrecque and Marc-Andre Lalonde donned the gear for Five Alive and Mr & Mrs Smith respectively. Shockingly the first period was a bit of a goalfest, FA captain Andrew Stephens

dominated early on with a pair in the opening 10 minutes, Jeff Murphy

and Kim Richer

would combine soon after to get MMS on the board but FA spare Don Prior

would pop 2 late period goals to give FA a commanding 4-1 lead at the halftime break.

MMS managed to turn up the heat considerably in the 2nd with 21 SOG but Labrecque would live up to his billing, Justin would stop all but one of those shots and 35 of 37 overall while captain Andrew added his hat trick marker late into an empty net to make it a 5-2 win for Five Alive. MA Lalonde may have given up 4 (5th goal was an empty-netter) but still managed 40 saves in a more than respectable showing despite the loss.
