The end of Week 6 marks the halfway point of the regular season and usually this is where the A ( Top 8 ) and B ( Bottom 6 ) start to separate themselves, this year the standings have been unusually close even for our league but over the past few weeks we've seen a few teams pull away, our first game of the day had one of those teams pulling away taking on an opponent who were desperate to right the ship following a string of rough outings The Truculent Defenders were the "pulling away" squad while the Heron Road Avengers came in losers of 3 straight and hoping to stop their freefall down the standings, the first period would be very evenly played as shots were 20-19 and it was the underdog Avengers who would hold a 2-1 lead thanks to a goal and assist from sniper Kelly Brant .
