The 2nd period would see a significant change of pace from the Mykala's gang as they wouldquite literally come out of the gate running and gunning. Within the first 135 seconds of the period they would pull ahead 3-2 and were seemingly on track for a blowout victory if not for the heroics of MMS tender Marc-Andre Lalonde, the quiet veteran MA faced a barrage of rubber in the second period and was nothing short of spectacular, in what is no doubt an O4 record the Madhouse put 42 shots on goal in the SECOND PERIOD ALONE and were turned aside by great save after great save from Lalonde.

Finally with just over a minute remaining MM captain Shawn Weatherdon would finally add some insurance padding his team's lead to 4-2 with a wrister from the slot. Trying desperately to reward the efforts of their goaltender and possibly just to give him a chance to sit down MMS would pull their goalie on the ensuing draw, that resulted in a couple of shots at the empty net for MM that were missed, then with just 21 seconds remaining Colin Smith would use his howitzer shot to send in a long bomb to pull MMS to within one. Building on that momentum MMS would win the next draw and find Jeff Murphy all alone, his bomb would also find twine to amazingly tie thie game at 4-4 with 10 seconds left to play. MMS would actually have 2 glorious chances to pull out the win in the final seconds but they'll have to settle for a very unlikely tie in this one. In all their goaltender MA would face 60 shots in the game, but that doesn't tell the whole story as a very high percentage of those shots were great scoring chances on the goaltender in a performance for the record books.
